The Executive Director, who is based in the IFLRY Headquarters in London, U.K., heads the IFLRY Secretariat. The Secretariat's main role is to support the Member Organisations and Bureau Members in their international activities, to act as a centre of communication and information and to arrange the administrative tasks associated with an active international federation. 1. OUTLOOK on previous activities co-organised by SALTO EECA
1.1 EECA participants at SOHO Training Course, Helsinki, Finland, 4-8 February 2009
For the first time, SALTO EECA supported SOHO (Sending Organisation, Hosting Organisation - European module Training Course for EVS Coordinators and Mentors) in 2008. Now, in 2009 we are already proposing 5 SOHO trainings to youth workers from Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

Natia Gigiadze from Student Youth Council in Ozurgeti, Georgia and Darina Stepanova from Sfera in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia took part in SOHO in Helsinki.

You can find information about upcoming SOHOs in next section of this Newlsetter (2.3).

1.2 SALTO EECA Multipliers annual meeting, Tbilisi, Georgia, 17-22 February 2009
Network of Multipliers of the Youth in Action Programme gathered on the Annual meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia, between 17-22 February 2009. The multipliers together with the SALTO EECA Resource Centre had opportunity to evaluate the work done in 2008 and plan multiplying activities for 2009.

We also invited Maija Lehto, officer from twin SALTO South East Europe (SEE) to share their regional experiences with multiplying Youth in Action Programme.

Additionally, Nerijus Kriauciunas took part in the meeting on behalf of SALTO Training & Cooperation (TC) to present recent developments of Youthpass in action 3.1 and to research recognition of non-formal education in Eastern Europe and Caucasus region. Please find interesting outcomes in multimedia files. In next "Youth in 7" Magazine you can find very interesting article by Nerius based on his discussions during EECA Multipliers meeting.

Training Course "EastWestEVS" will bring 26 youth workers from organisations interested in European Voluntary Service (EVS) projects within Youth in Action programme in cooperation between Programme and Eastern Europe & Caucasus countries. This training is organised together by British and Spanish National Agencies of Youth in Action Programme and SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus and SALTO Cultural Diversity Resource Centres.

"EastWestEVS" in 2009 will focus on Cultural Diversity and intercultural learning in EVS Project. The event will give chance to participants to learn about Youth in Action Programme and European Voluntary Service, to raise quality of their EVS projects as well as to find partners for future common activities.

"Eastern Express" Training course aims at rising quality of Youth Exchanges within action 3.1 of Youth in Action (YiA) programme, especially is cooperation between Programme and Eastern Europe and Caucasus (EECA) regions. The training is organised jointly by Turkish National Agency of YiA Programme and SALTO EECA Resource Centre.

In 2009, special focus will be paid to Innovation and Creativity in youth work in general, and in Youth Exchanges in particular. During the event participants will have a chance to learn about Youth in Action Programme and Youth Exchanges, to raise quality of their future projects as well as to find partners for future common activities.

2.3 EECA participants at SOHO Training Courses in Bulgaria (11-15 March), France (1-5 April), Turkey (27-31 May)
Deadline for applications: 1 April!

In the upcoming days, several youth workers from Eastern Europe and Caucasus will take part in the SOHO trainings in Bulgaria (11-15 March) and France (1-5 April). There is still open call for participants for Turkish SOHO (27-31 May), until 1 April!

SOHO (Sending Organisation, Hosting Organisation) is an European module Training Course for EVS Coordinators and Mentors. Mentors and coordinators of EVS projects play a crucial role in the triangle of Sending Organisations, Host Organisations, and the volunteer. At a SOHO training course, participants meet in a multilateral context to exchange needs and expectations and to learn about quality aspects of EVS projects.

On an annual basis, SALTO Training and Co-operation co-ordinates and monitors several SOHO training courses for ca. 250 coordinators and mentors from all over Europe. The training courses are hosted by the National Agencies of Youth in Action Programme and are implemented by a trainers pool consisting of 7 European trainers. From 2008 SALTO EECA already send 6 youth workers for 3 SOHOs and will send subsequent 4.

2.4 EECA participants at BiTriMulti in Reims, France, 24-28 June 2009
Deadline for applications: 1 May!

BiTriMulti (BTM) is a training course based on simulation games, inputs, and group work. The training supports mainly newcomers to develop Youth Exchanges within the context of Youth in Action, Action 1.1 and 3.1.

Youth exchanges are standard international activities of a long tradition within European. Several indicators are recommended to meet the quality aspects of good Youth Exchange and to be successful during the application process and the implementation of the project. The main aim of BTM is to support youth workers to achieve the expected quality standards.

European Commission has updated the Youth in Action Programme Guide. The changes are quite little, but between all strong emphasis is paid to safety and security of participants of future activities. Before applying make sure you are in line with the newest regulations!

3.2 EVS hosting placements in Lviv, Ukraine and Nizhny Novgorod, Russia
Academy of Ukrainian Youth from Lviv, Ukraine is looking for partners from Programme countries for EVS hosting project in Lviv, Ukraine. We have possibility to host 6 volunteers for a period of 8-12 month to work in projects regarding European clubs, children education, and work with people with disabilities:

Institute of Ukrainian Studies from Lviv, Ukraine plan to host 4 volunteers in different projects related to web-site, cooperation with international and local partners, project development, promoting Youth in Action Programme, fundraising, work with local youth.

The project will last for one year. The volunteers will stay in Lviv (Ukraine) since beginning of September (negotiable) 2009 till the end of August 2010.

SFERA from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia is happy to present new EVS vacancies for the 1st of April deadline. Work done by volunteers will consist of promotion of volunteering in workcamps, development of long-term volunteering, improvement of the social service in Russia and promotion of youth participation.

3.4 Hairdressers Youth Exchange - find Innovation at Youth Exchange in Azerbaijan

When COE and EU started its projects enlargement in all European countries many young people joined to these projects and they involved other young people from their community to these projects as well. This seminar aims at raising the awareness of youth workers and leaders on gender equality and human rights as an integral part of their youth work through non-formal educational methods. During the seminar we will use: non-formal educational methods, discussions, case studies, role plays and group activities. SALTO Resource Centre for Eastern Europe and Caucasus (EECA) was established in Poland on October 1st, 2003. The aims of the RC are to raise visibility and awareness of the YOUTH in ACTION Programme opportunities in Eastern Europe and Caucasus, to promote cooperation with EECA neighbouring countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine) and to give support to NAs and youth organizations in the development of contacts, partnerships and expertise in cooperation with EECA region.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Participants should meet the following criteria:

• To be students of journalism at the Faculties of Journalism in their country or be recently graduated students of journalism

• To be computer literate

• To be fluent in English

Project Background
The five-day training will focus on:

- Developing and advancing new media skills (On-line journalism) for young journalists of the SEE countries

- Teaching young journalists on how to be engaged in the process of creating public opinion in the SEE region

- Raising the level of the participants’ professional skills regarding investigative journalism

- Encouraging individual work (searching for information, using different sources, writing), along with monitoring and leading by mentors and editors

-Raising the level of participants’ cultural competency

- Wider project impact – participants will transfer the acquired skills and knowledge on their places of work, among their colleagues and the community they live in; dissemination of information relevant for journalists, as well as for other NGOs, media, humanitarian organizations, donors, etc.
We believe that the free flow of information trough the online media is an opportunity that should be given to the SEE students of journalism and young journalists from South Eastern Europe .
Travel, Accommodation and Food:
Participants will be accommodated in hotel ( two bedrooms) in the very center of the city, the food will be provided for the all days of the activity, the travel cost will be reimbursement up to 70% of the original cost, and the transfer will be done by bank transfer after receiving the original tickets.

International Essay Competition 2009

In quest of the new generation of « green » entrepreneurs, the World Bank and its partners invite youngers from 18 to 25 years old to participate in an International essay on the topic of climate change. The Idea is to boost young people to think about these two questions : How does climate change affect you? How can you tackle climate change through youth-led solutions ?

Eight finalists will participate in the Final Jury in Seoul, South Korea, in June 2009, and attend the Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (ABCDE).
Money awards: 1st prize: 3,000 USD; 2nd prize: 2,000 USD; 3rd prize: 1,000 USD

European Art Contest

The portuguese non-profitable youth organization Rota Jovem is developing a new project called “Step Into Europe” in partnership with five international associations. This project aims to stimulate reflection and artistic expression with European youngsters through subjects as intercultural dialogue, human rights and youngsters in the European societies.

Within the context of this project, Rota Jovem propose an art competition, European Art Contest, directed to all European countries, on the topic of youth participation and European values. The competition divides itself into 5 categories:

O Digital photography

O Micro-film

O Music

The EM GAME: how to get its best

The Portuguese National Agency for the Youth in action programme in cooperation with Salto-Youth EuroMed organize a training course on EM Game, a game on youth projecting in the Euro-Mediterranean context. This TC will take place in Portugal from 11 to 17th May 2009.

This training course is focused on the idea of explaining and empowering the various ways of using the EM GAME as a tool, addressing to different topics and according to the different phases of the training.

ASIA-EUROPE TRAINING FOR YOUTH LEADERS

The Role of Human Rights Education in Intercultural Dialogue - an Asia-Europe perspective

The Asia-Europe Training for Youth Leaders is co-organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe (DYS) and will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from the 17th to the 24th of May 2009.

The objective of The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is to forge a stronger partnership between Asia and Europe that is based on equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit. The three pillars of the ASEM dialogue process – which extends beyond the political and official levels and encompasses the business and people sectors of the two regions – are political dialogue on regional and global issues, enhanced economic cooperation, and cooperation in the social, cultural, and educational fields.

Objectives of the training course:

ü Develop the competence of participants in integrating human rights education in intercultural youth projects;

ü Develop the intercultural competence of participants for Asia-Europe co-operation;

ü Develop participants understanding of the youth work realities in Asia and Europe;

ü To explore practical ways and methodological tools for human rights education and intercultural dialogue with the participants;

ü To introduce participants to the institutional programmes and possibilities for Asia-European intercultural youth projects;
The course follows the approaches and practices common in non-formal learning/education: based on experiential learning, taking into account participants’ experience, combining theory and practice and with a high intercultural learning dimension and content.

Working Language: English

When? From the 17th to the 24th of May 2009
Where? Budapest, Hungry
Fees and other expenses: A registration fee of 60 € is due from all participants in the course; as a general rule, this fee is deducted from the reimbursement of participants’ travel expenses. The organisers of the training course will be responsible for covering all local costs, including accommodation and meals during the program. They will also be in charge of fully covering the international transport costs.

European Art Contest

Shots of Dialog


Associazione Culturale Link (Italy) and Intercultura (France) in association with other international partners organize in Dinan (France) from 21 to 25 May 2009 a short films festival called " Shots of dialogue ".

The festival is open to youngers between 15 and 30 years old, living in the EU or in one of the countries belonging to the regions MEDA, SEE, EECA. Every single young person or groups of youth, can participate by sending a short movie on the topic of "intercultural dialogue".

There will be accepted short movies made between January 2008 and March 2009 using any support (analogical, video, film), of any genre, and having a lenght not longer than 8 minutes.

The deadline for sending the film is April 15th!

2009 International Essay Competition: Engaging Youth in Reform


2009 International Essay Competition: Engaging Youth in Reform

Students and young professionals from 18 to 30 years old are invited to enter this essay competition and share their ideas on these topics: citizenship in a democratic society, educational reform and employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship & leadership. Essays should be 2,000-4,000 words, original, unpublished and written in English. The three winning essays from each category will be published as Economic Reform Feature Service articles, and will receive cash prizes.

All essays must be submitted by 1 March 2009.

International Radio Playwriting Competition 2009

International Radio Playwriting Competition 2009

Anyone over 16, resident outside Britain, can join this biennial competition and write a 60 minute radio drama for up to six characters. There are two categories: one for writers with English as their first language and one for writers with English as their second language. The two winners will go to London and see their play made into a full radio production, which will then be broadcast on the BBC World Service. They will also each receive a cash prize, and there will also be prizes for the runners up. The play must be in English, unpublished and must not have been previously produced in any medium.

Deadline for submit entries is 31 March 2009.

“New ways of youth participation based on Information and Communication Technologies”

Willing to boost new trends in youth participation, the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe organizes in March 2009 the seminar “New ways of youth participation” based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The main purpose is to bring policy makers, youth researchers, youth organizations and young people together, to explore different ways of participation based on Information and Communication Technologies (“e-participation”) and to develop strategies on how they can be implemented in youth work practice, youth educational programs, youth research and policy.

Who? Participants must be aged between 18 and 30 and actively involved in youth participation projects based on Information and Communication Technologies.

When? 16 – 18 March 2009 (Deadline to apply: February 13th 2009)

Costs: Participation in the seminar is free of charge.

Training Trainers for Human Rights Education with young people

The Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe organizes a training course for social workers who want to go deep into Human Rights education for young people.

This training course aims to develop the competences of the participants in working with human rights education at national and regional level and to enable them to act as trainers or facilitators of human rights education activities with young people based on non-formal learning approaches.

In 2009, Roma remains a priority for the Youth in Action programme
Roma remain one of the most disadvantaged minority groups in Europe. The Roma young people also suffer from other community's prejudices and stereotypes. For the European Commission and the Youth in Action programme, Roma communities remain a priority in 2009 within the inclusion strategy. Together with several National Agencies, SALTO Cultural Diversity Resource Centre has coordinated and supported different activities targeting Roma youth: roundtables, training courses, and links with Roma organisations. All the outcomes are available on our website as well as information and useful links. More SALTO support for work in this important area will continue in 2009.

Working group on ethnic minorities
SALTO Cultural Diversity Resource Centre launched a working group of National Agencies to share good practices and build a common strategy for a better inclusion of ethnic minorities in the Youth in Action programme. Hungary, Poland, United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Belgium Flanders and Sweden were participating as well as the European Commission, the European Youth Forum, SALTO Inclusion and SALTO Participation. Discussions were held about different national realities, and how out-reach work should be done sensitively and with intercultural competence. Different follow up projects will be set up including a seminar gathering representatives of ethnic minority and National Agencies.

"Respecting diversity" training course, 3-6 March, Romania
British Council Romania is organising a training workshop under the Respecting Diversity project. The aim of this project is to improve the awareness and quality of diversity work among Romania youth by building the competences and capacity of NGOs working with young people and by increasing the know-how of these organisations in accessing European funds, principally Youth in Action in order to develop international youth projects. Representatives of youth NGOs from Romania, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom can apply until 18 February 2009. British Council is covering the costs of accommodation and meals during the course and participants will cover their travel costs.

International Youth Seminar

European Youth against to Racism and Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia

Why this Seminar?

Voice of Youth Public Union is committed to supporting the work of the Council of Europe, European Youth Foundation. VYPU will be organising a seminar, in Baku during 25th of March - 1st of April, 2009 which will bring together 24 youth leaders and workers active at community and local level to share best practices and to work on joint projects on prevention of Racism and Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

Overall Aim of the Training Seminar:

This international Youth Seminar will bring together youth workers from all over Europe, ready to share best practices and to work on joint projects on prevention of Racism and Xenophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. The youth seminar is a contribution to the combating of Racism and Xenophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, by exploring political and educational action aimed at increasing understanding and respect for cultural and religious diversity in Europe. The problems will be discussed within the wider context of racism and discrimination in Europe, in new and old forms. The Youth seminar aimed is to promote tolerance between the different young members of ethnic groups on the Europe and to combat the racism and xenophobia, which are one of the main problems in the region. This project mainly aims to encourage and enable young people to participate in building peaceful societies based on diversity and inclusion, in a spirit of respect, tolerance, and mutual understanding. The project aims at empowering with knowledge and skills in combating Racism and Xenophobia, Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in Europe 24 young European multipliers during 6 days youth seminar in the multicultural city Baku.

Objectives of the Seminar:

To explore the concept of Racism and Xenophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia and its relevance in Europe today;
To share and analyze the realities and manifestations of Racism and Xenophobia, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia faced by young people in Europe;
To identify strategies and approaches to prevent racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and its consequences on young people;
To examine similar forms of racial discrimination and intolerance involving young people, such as: Anti-Semitism, and racism against visible minorities;
To develop common understanding of the challenges and priorities for youth action in the field of anti-racism and intercultural learning;
To raise awareness of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and mobilize institutions and organizations active against discrimination in the fight against it;
To propose measures for political and educational action aimed at increasing understanding and respect for religious diversity among young people in Europe;
To bring together and mobilize people with experience in the seminaraign issues at national and international level to establish youth platform against racism, Anti-Semitism, xenophobia:

Methodology of the Seminar:

The youth seminar will be used a variety of methods, including: small and large group discussions, plenary sessions, simulation games and role-plays, small group workshops, individual and group presentations, and guest speakers. The process focused on non-formal education and intercultural learning.

Profile of Participants:

v Youth leaders, Youth workers, Youth Trainers, Project managers from youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations

v Youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations that wants to be a partner in this project.

v Active members of organizations and youth groups, local youth councils willing to develop further activities and act as multipliers within their organizations

v Be motivated to develop their knowledge and competence the specific field and to share their experiences with other participants

v Have some experience in developing youth activities in local/national level and be well informed about the activities they were involved and be prepared to present and explain their function to other participants

v Commit themselves to their function for future activities in the field of youth policy and be prepared to pass on the others the knowledge and skills gained during this activity.

The working language will be English only.

Travel reimbursement:

Travel costs of all participants will be reimbursed at 70% based on the original tickets, invoices and all travel related tickets. The 70% of reimbursement should not exceed:

300 Euros for other COE Countries

270 Euros for United Kingdom, Italy, France

230 Euros for Russia and Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey

40 Euros for Georgia

There is no reimbursement for the local participants coming from different regions of Azerbaijan. Visa costs of foreign participants will be fully reimbursed by the hosted organization based on the original invoices that you get in the border of Baku airport.

Due to a low budget for transport, we encourage participants that come from a range of 1000 km to use bus or train as means of transport.

Before purchasing your tickets, please consult with the organizers upon the travel costs.

The meeting can take place when participants make an effort to contribute financially to their travel costs. Therefore, we kindly ask you to use any alternative possibilities of funding that can cover travel costs. Sometimes your sending organizations or structures would effort to cover the travel costs or you may identify small local grants to contribute for the travel cost. We would appreciate very much your help.

Application Procedure and Selection of Participants:

All those interested in attending must return the application form to the team by e-mail latest by 20th February, 2009.

The preparatory team will select 24 participants on the basis of the profile outlined above and ensuring a balanced group (gender, geographical regions, different types of experiences, cultural backgrounds and organisations).

1.2 Call for participants for SOHO and BiTriMulti training courses

SALTO SEE RC occasionally supports participants in the National Agency network training courses that are held on a regular basis in various countries, and that aim to provide support for the National Agencies in the implementation of their training strategies. There are currently two open places for participants from South East Europe in three different training courses: SOHO training courses in France and Turkey and BiTriMulti training course in France. The aim of SOHO training course is to provide the EVS host and sending organisations support in carrying out a good quality EVS project, and it is meant for EVS support persons (i.e. mentors and coordinators). BiTriMulti training course aims to provide support for organisations in implementing good quality youth exchanges.

1.3 Call for participants: Training Course "Quest for quality in training and networking projects"

The French and German National Agencies organise a training course with the aim to improve the quality of training and networking projects under the sub-actions 4.3 and 3.1 of the Youth in Action programme. The main objectives of the training course are:

-To improve qualitative elements of Training and Networking projects
-To understand the 8 different activities of Training and Networking projects and their complementarity in the long term strategy of participants' organisations
-To understand the global context of the Youth in Action Programme

There are two open places for participants from South East Europe. The participants should come from organisations that have carried out at least one Training and networking activity

1.4 Expiry of the accreditation of EVS organisations initially accredited in 2006

Accreditation of EVS organisations in South East Europe became compulsory in June 2006. Accordingly, SALTO SEE RC accredited a larger number of organisations in 2006. Since the maximum period of validity for accreditation is three years, please note that the accreditation of all of those organisations will expire shortly. Each organisation wishing to continue in EVS must reapply for accreditation by submitting a fully completed EI form.

1.5 New website on Youth in Action in Serbian

The organisations "Hajde da..." and Educational Centre of Krusevac have launched a new website for the purpose of promoting the Youth in Action Programme in Serbia. This is a part of larger promotional and educational initiative for which the organisations have received financial support from the Ministry of Youth and Sport in Serbia, aiming to raise the awareness of the Youth in Action Programme in the country and supporting the quality of projects involving Serbian organisations. The website contains information, in Serbian and English, on the Programme and its Actions available for Neighbouring Partner Countries. http://www.mladiuakciji.rs/

2 SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre - Who are we?
The SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre is one of eight SALTO Resource Centres which have established by the European Commission to support the implementation of the Youth in Action Programme in different priority areas. SALTO stands for Support, Advanced Learning and Training Opportunities.
The SALTO South East Europe Resource Centre has been hosted by the YOUTH/Youth in Action National Agency MOVIT NA MLADINA since April 2002. It aims to facilitate and increase the participation of the Youth in Action Programme partner countries in the Western Balkans in the Programme.
We offer support and training for Youth in Action National Agencies and project organisers to promote co-operation and improve the quality of Youth in Action projects between Programme countries and the SEEregion.

Foreword
It's the beginning of a new year and it is time to introduce you briefly the activities which SALTO-YOUTH Participation Resource Centre will organise in 2009. This year, we will further support the quality and quantity development of the Action 1.3 'Youth Democracy Projects' as there is still an important need in this regard.

Besides, the development of Youth Participation as a horizontal pedagogical principle will be also one of our main concerns in 2009.

The AEGEE project YOUrope needs YOU! aims at empowering high school students in different countries all over Europe to become active members

Conducted by university students who are members of AEGEE, the project intends to raise awareness for European matters, show the practical opportunities Europe offers, and encourage the youths to seize these opportunities. The use of interactive non-formal education methods will allow the participating high school students to improve their understanding of common European values and perspectives. will enable them to see the benefits they create for themselves and for society as a whole when they are active. The key to success of this project is
the fact that it is organised by students for students – a great basis for sharing idealism and the conviction to act and experience Europe.

Dear reader,

We have scheduled three courses for NGOs and international organisations in Geneva, Switzerland, in November and December. The courses are for practitioners and address challenges faced by non-profit executives. They help sharpening key skills and developing strategies that you can immediately use in your work:

24-28 November:
Essentials of NGO Management (5 days) - How to manage and lead an NGO
This course is aimed at directors and department heads, project managers, team leaders and board members.

1-3 December:
Project Planning and Management with Logical Framework Approach (3 days) - How to design, present and monitor projects with the help of a concise and simple table
This course is suitable for project managers, team leaders, desk officers and heads of department.

4-5 December:
Effective Programme Disengagement (2 days) - Achieving programme and project sustainability
This course is for those who have to end a project or programme and need to develop a sustainable disengagement strategy to withdraw responsibly.

Course fee:

Course fee covers tuition, training materials and handouts, lunch and refreshments during course breaks and a course certificate. The number of participants is limited to 20 persons. Accommodation is not included. Reservations at recommended hotels are made upon request.

Non-OECD fee applies for nationals from countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

OECD fee applies for nationals from OECD member states, and for participants working for an organisation with annual revenue of more than CHF 7.5 mio.

3-day course:

Kontakt točka programa Europa za građane

Uredu za udruge Vlade Republike Hrvatske je kao nositelju provedbe programa Zajednice Europa za građane u Republici Hrvatskoj, a u skladu s novom strukturom provedbe Programa na europskoj razini, od strane Izvršne agencije za obrazovne, audio-vizualne i kulturne politike dodijeljen status Kontakt točke za program Europa za građane.

Kontakt točka za program Europa za građane oformljena je s ciljem postizanja što bolje informiranosti potencijalnih korisnika – svih vrsta neprofitnih organizacija: organizacija civilnoga društva, jedinica lokalne samouprave (gradova i općina), obrazovnih i istraživačkih institucija, sindikata, i slično – o svim aspektima sudjelovanja u Programu, čime će se nastojati povećati njihovu sposobnost apsorpcije raspoloživih sredstava. Kako bismo omogućili što kvalitetniju komunikaciju između potencijalnih korisnika Programa i Kontakt točke, u sklopu Ureda za udruge je odnedavno uspostavljena Služba tehničke podrške za program Europa za građane, putem koje možete zatražiti sve potrebne informacije vezane uz Program. Pozivamo vas da nas kontaktirate putem elektronske pošte europazagradane@uzuvrh.hr ili telefonskog broja 01/ 610 95 58.

S ciljem facilitiranja uspostavljanja partnerstava s europskim organizacijama i/ili europskim jedinicama lokalne samouprave drugim na našoj internetskoj stranici uspostavljen je alat Traženje partnerskih organizacija, pomoću kojeg je moguće objavljivati i pretraživati iskaze interesa za suradnjom na projektima unutar Programa. Pozivamo vas da nam uputite svoj iskaz interesa za suradnju s europskim organizacijama u sklopu Programa. Obrazac iskaza interesa možete preuzeti ovdje.
Također, na našim stranicama dostupno je i službeno izdanje hrvatske verzije Programskog vodiča za program Europa za građane.

Volonteri

Na inicijativu Europskog parlamenta 2011. godina volontiranja
Utorak, 16. Rujan 2008.

Europski je parlament 15. srpnja usvojio deklaraciju kojom se Europska komisija poziva da 2011. proglasi godinom volontiranja, a europsko civilno društvo pozdravilo je ovu deklaraciju te pozvalo Komisiju i Vijeće na akciju. Predicament Europskog foruma mladih Bettina Schwarzmayr izjavila je povodom usvajanja deklaracije u Parlamentu kako je ona jasan znak da Parlament podupire volonterske aktivnosti i priznanje da europski volonteri doprinose gospodarskoj i socijalno koheziji u Europi.

Iako 30 posto Europljana sudjeluje u volonterskim aktivnostima, a čak 80 posto Europljana izjavljuje kako je aktivni angažmana u društvu od ključnog značenja za europsku demokraciju, institucije Europske unije kao i većina vlada zemalja članica EU-a još uvijek nemaju stratešku i sveobuhvatnu politiku koja bi podržala i promovirala volonterske aktivnosti.

Pored toga 2011. obilježit će se 10. godišnjica Međunarodne godine volontera pa će i organizacija Ujedinjenih naroda tim povodom organizirati brojne svečanosti obilježavanja.

Stoga u volonterskim udrugama ističu kako si Europska unija ne smije dozvoliti da zanemari svoje građane te kako se europske vrijednosti solidarnosti i socijalne kohezije moraju provoditi u svakodnevnoj praksi.

Centre for Creative Expression is looking for two EVS volunteers! Voluntary service should start from September 2008 and last 8 to12 months.

Activities in Centre for Creative Expression: trainings, seminars, international youth exchanges, supporting youth initiatives, psychological support by internet, maintaining Kur9lnai local community website www.kursenai. lt, other educational activities

Activities in Kur9lnai community: activities in orphanage, with disabled young people, activities in sports club and other organisations.

Kur9lnai is a small town with 15000 inhabitants, near )iauliai. Kur9lnai is 150 km away from Riga (capital of Latvia), 240 km from Vilnius (capital of Lithuania) and 120 km from the beach of the Baltic Sea.

Centre for Creative Expression is looking for people who are not afraid to take initiative and realise their ideas!

The organisation is a network of young leaders and youth workers who educate other young people to be tolerant, critical thinking and active citizens. TC Positive Image Building for Inclusion Groups

6-12 October 2008, Hungary

Target Group
There will be places for 25 participants on the SALTO TC Image, selected according to the criteria below:

directly working with young people with fewer opportunities - this can be anybody working with young people, volunteer or paid, professionals or peers, working in big youth organizations/structures or with informal groups...
having the interest and the possibility within their organization (green light from their hierarchy/colleagues!) to set up European projects and cooperation activities after the course to improve the image of the groups they are working with.
having a good working knowledge of (international :-) English, the working language of the course
available to actively attend the full duration of the course
willing to participate into a follow-up questionnaire 3-6 months after the training course
Participants should be resident in one of the 31 Youth in Action programme countries or Switzerland - your NA should support your participation (and travel costs).
